Mmetla Masire

Managing Director

Mmetla Masire was appointed ODC Managing Director in July 2021. Mr. Masire has over 30 years of experience in the diamond industry. He joins ODC, from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology & Energy Security where he served as Permanent Secretary. Some of the senior positions he has held include being the CEO of Water Utilities Corporation, Debswana Group Engineering Manager, Orapa Power Station Project Manager, and Mine General Manager. Mr. Masire holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical & Electronics from the University of Wales. Mr. Masire has served in several boards including De Beers, Debswana, Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Minerals Development Company Botswana, etc. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sir Ketumile Masire Foundation and the President of Botswana Cycling Association.

Lipalesa Makepe

Chief Financial Officer

Lipalesa joined ODC as Chief Financial Officer in April 2018 from Barclays Bank of Botswana. Her core responsibilities include ensuring the implementation of best practice financial management, risk management, human resource, procurement and the efficient administration strategies and interventions. Lipalesa is a Fellow of the institute of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and an Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with the institute of Chartered Accountants of Botswana (BICA). She has over 20 years’ experience in auditing, finance, commercial analytics and risk management gained across financial services in Botswana and South Africa. Prior to joining to ODC, she held several senior roles with Barclays Bank, including Financial Director and Director Shared Services. Lipalesa has served on several Boards including Botswana Stock Exchange, Barclays Bank of Botswana, Sechaba Breweries Holding and Southview (Pty) Limited to name a few.

Sethunya Kelebogile Molosiwa

Operations Director

Sethunya Kelebogile Molosiwa joined ODC as the Operations Director in November 2020 from Liberty General Botswana. As the Operations Director she is responsible for the planning and management of diamond sorting schedule, culminating in the accurate preparation of diamonds for sale. She has over 14 years’ experience in the insurance industry in customer service, operations, IT system implementation, product development and pricing, risk management, actuarial valuations, financial reporting and business development. Prior to joining to ODC, she held several senior roles including Manager Director at Liberty General Botswana, and Chief Operations Officer at Botswana Life Insurance Limited. Sethunya holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Actuarial Studies) from Macquarie University, Australia, a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques and a Certificate in Finance & Investment from Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Oxford, England. She also holds a Senior Management Development Program from the University of Stellenbosch.
